Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 16, 2026

Eric Opiela PLLC (“the Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to information collected through our website, ericopiela.com, and in the course of our communications with clients and other contacts, including telephone calls, email, and SMS/text messaging.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, including your name, mailing address, email address, telephone and mobile phone numbers, and the contents of your communications with the Firm. Our website does not use contact forms, does not require accounts, and does not collect payment information online.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to communicate with you, to provide and administer legal services, to schedule and confirm appointments, to respond to your inquiries, and to comply with our legal and professional obligations. Information clients share with the Firm in the course of representation is additionally protected by the attorney-client privilege and the duty of confidentiality under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.

SMS/Text Messaging

The Firm sends and receives SMS text messages from its office telephone numbers for client-care purposes only — such as scheduling and confirming appointments, providing updates regarding your matter, and responding to messages you send us. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

Consent. You consent to receive text messages from the Firm by providing your mobile phone number to us and agreeing to be contacted by text, or by initiating a text-message conversation with one of our numbers. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of retaining the Firm or of any purchase of services.

Message frequency varies depending on your matter and your communications with us. Message and data rates may apply; contact your wireless provider with questions about your plan.

Opting out. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After we receive your STOP request, we will send one final message to confirm you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further text messages from us unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP to any message, call us at (830) 254-7939, or email eopiela@ericopiela.com.

No Sharing of Mobile Information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted only as necessary to provide those services. All other categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information, mobile phone number, or SMS consent status to any third party for marketing purposes. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or applicable professional obligation.

Service Providers

We use a limited number of service providers to operate our practice — for example, our telephone and messaging service provider, our email provider, and our website host. These providers process information only as necessary to deliver their services to us and are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies and Website Analytics

Our website is a static informational site. It does not set tracking cookies, display advertising, or run third-party analytics. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may receive standard technical request data (such as your IP address) when the page loads.

Data Security and Retention

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information in our custody. We retain client information as required by our professional obligations and applicable law, and other contact information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy.

Children

Our website and messaging programs are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
